This painting is my depiction of sacred elements and deities from the Wixáritari – Huichol Tribe of Mexico. It depicts the Blue Deer, Maize – Corn, Peyote – Hikuri, Father Sun, and the Light – Fire, nestled within an Ojo de Dios – Eye of God, all of which are of important spiritual significance to the tribe. It was created during the grant period for the Emerging Artist Award offered by Creative Pinellas.
